  1. The email address that you provide to us is used to verify your ownership of the submitted personal data. For example by sending you an email message requesting you to confirm the creation of a profile with your email address. 
  2. The personal data that you provide to us via the preferences form will be used to inform you by email about the topics you have selected. This information may relate to newsletters, events or publications. 
  3. You may view and adjust your profile and personal data at any time. The profile can be accessed via the link embedded in the confirmation email received after your profile has been created or updated. Alternatively you may access your profile via the link ‘My Profile’ which will be embedded in every email that we send to you in the context of this process. A third option is to access your profile by visiting preference.kpmg.nl
  4. The processing of your personal data provided through this form is based on your consent. 
  5. You are able to withdraw your consent at any time through the ‘Unsubscribe’ link which will be embedded in every email that we send to you in the context of this process. The option to unsubscribe can also be found on your profile page (accessible via preference.kpmg.nl). 
  6. We will store your personal data - submitted through this form - in our customer relationship management (CRM) system. If your personal information is already present in our CRM system (e.g. because of other services provided to you or current sales related conversations with you), your personal data will be combined in order to ensure a clear and consistent view of you as a KPMG relation. 
  7. KPMG makes reasonable efforts to retain personal data only for so long as the information is necessary. For the personal data provided through this form, a standard retention period of one year is applicable. This period takes effect from the moment that your personal data has not actively been updated or used by you or KPMG for more than a year. 
  8. KPMG has reasonable security policies and procedures in place to protect personal data against unauthorised destruction, loss, alteration or improper disclosure. Despite KPMG’s best efforts, however, security cannot be absolutely guaranteed against all threats. 
  9. Access to your personal data is limited to those who are involved on behalf of KPMG in the processing of the personal data for the above mentioned purpose (i.e. informing you by email about the topics of your choice) and qualified others whose access is justified and permitted in compliance with the applicable privacy legislation. Individuals who have access to the personal data are required to maintain the confidentiality of such information. 
  10. For this data processing, KPMG may use the services of third parties, such as IT-services and other (administrative) support around emailings. Appropriate arrangements will be made with these parties in order to ensure a correct and secure data processing in compliance with applicable legislation. 
  11. You are legally entitled to request information about your personal data processed by KPMG. Furthermore you may request KPMG for access, or to transfer to you (data portability), rectify or erase, or to restrict the processing of your personal data.   12. If you believe that the processing of your personal data infringes the applicable privacy legislation, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority in your country (in the Netherlands this is the Dutch Data Protection Authority).
